Premier Local Golf Course
After three years quietly in the making, Dragon’s Fire Golf Club took flight in 2008 when the course opened to the public. While the 18-hole championship caliber design doesn’t have supernatural powers, the secrets dwelling within Dragon’s Fire boundaries are well guarded by some 80 bunkers and other natural hazards. The abundance of trees and rolling landscape, provides a feeling of seclusion and isolation as you play each of the holes that are surrounded by neighbouring woods and farm fields.
Whether you want to believe that dragons are friendly creatures that bring good fortune and wealth or that they’re fiery beasts that kill their prey from a distance your theory will probably be determined by the tees you choose to play from. The course stretches from 5,200 to 7,200 yards, par-72 with six sets of large tee blocks to choose from. We have designed this course to be both enjoyable and challenging for the average golfer, yet the further back you go the more the dragon’s fury and teeth will come into play, there is a 660-yard, par-5 to deal with for anyone playing the tips.
As one of the premier semi-private golf courses in the GTA, Dragon’s Fire Golf Club has been committed to incorporating the suggestions of its players into the dynamic features of its layout since its inception in June 2008.
With over 7,000 yards of golf range and six sets of tee decks, top notch USGA greens, elegant white Ohio sand bunkers, and satellite-controlled irrigation systems, the course is both functional and upscale. Maintaining the integral history of the old tree farm on which it was built, Dragon’s Fire Golf Club is a fun and challenging course every caliber of golfer will enjoy.
Award-Winning Golf Course
In its inaugural year, Dragon’s Fire Golf Club was the winner of Best Par 5, Best Par 3, Best Service, Best New Course in the GTA, and Reader’s Choice Diamond Award for Best Golf Course in Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Flamborough and Hamilton.
It was also chosen as one of the Top 5 Best New Courses in Canada and presented with the “Excellence and Achievement in the Golf Course Industry” award by Textron for North America Wide Achievement.
Our Policies and Procedures
Registration
All players must register at the Pro-Shop prior to commencing play. Players must not tee off prior to the opening of the Pro-Shop.
Rules of Play
Except for local rules, all play is governed by the current regulations of the RCGA. For local rules, please consult your score card.
Slow Play
At Dragon’s Fire Golf Club, we will extend every effort to ensure that a round of golf does not exceed four and a half hours. Players failing to maintain their place by dropping more than a hole from those in front, and being on a pace to exceed more than four and a half hours, will be requested to close the gap by the Player Assistant. The Player Assistant will assist by helping to look for lost balls, raking the bunkers etc. If the gap widens to two holes, they must pick up their balls and move to the next tee. This step is necessary for the enjoyment of all golfers playing that day.
Players Assistants
Dragon’s Fire Golf Club has a definitive Player Assistant Program. The purpose of the Players Assistant is to:
- Assist players to have an enjoyable day at Dragon’s Fire
- Ensure the correct flow and pace of play
- Enforce Club policies for the benefit of all players
- Enhance the overall golfing experience for all guests playing at Dragon’s Fire
